The system cannot be restored to factory settings by pressing F10
The system cannot be restored to factory settings by pressing F10 |
Cause:
You have created a system recovery disk using a USB flash drive and restored the system. According to the USB flash drive recovery mechanism for Windows 10/Windows11, after the USB flash drive is used to restore the system, the hidden partition that came with the device is damaged. As a result, the F10 one-key restore function is unavailable.
Third-party software or malicious programs have been optimized, or hard disk partitions and hard disk configurations have been manually changed. As a result, the F10 one-key restore function may work abnormally. Based on data security principles, when the recovery software detects an exception, either an error message or the troubleshooting page is displayed.
After the WinRE disk is formatted, the format of the disk is changed from NTFS to FAT32, which does not meet the format requirements of the WinRE disk, and does not support the WinRE function.
Solution:
You can use the Windows 10/Windows11 restore function to reset the system. During startup, press and hold F8, then click Troubleshoot > Reset this PC. It is recommended that you choose to save files. After about 40 minutes (depending on file size), the system will reset.
System restoration will delete all data in the C drive, and files in other drives will be retained. To avoid data loss, it is recommended that you back up C drive data including desktop files, downloads, documents, and other personal files. Remember the Microsoft account and password that activated the Office components on your computer. Office components do not expire after the computer is restored to factory settings. Enter the Microsoft account and password bound when activating Office components for the first time, and reactivate Office components. Different versions of the F10 function operation interface may be slightly different, operate according to the actual interface prompts.
