    App crashes, closes unexpectedly, or doesn't respond

    The issue may occur if the app version is too low, app permission is not granted, internal storage is insufficient, or other reasons. Perform the following to troubleshoot:

    1 Restart the app

    Open Settings, search for and access Apps, then locate and access the app in question. Touch Force stop to exit the app, and open it again.

    2 Check for updates

    • Go to Google Play Store or the app's official website, to update the app to the latest version.
    • Check for updates for your phone:

      Open Settings, search for and access Software update or System & updates, and touch Check for updates. If a version is available, update your phone at your earliest convenience.

    3 Check for app compatibility

    If a third-party app crashes, search for it in Google Play Store and see if it is compatible with your phone's version. Alternatively, check whether the issue occurs on other phones running the same Android version. If Google Play Store indicates that the app is incompatible with your phone, or the issue also occurs on other similar phones, the app may be faulty. Contact the app developers for a solution.

    4 Check the app permissions

    A third-party app may crash if it is not granted with some permissions. Open Settings, search for and access Permissions, locate the app in question, and grant the related permissions.

    5 Clear app data

    Open Settings, search for and access Apps, find the app in question, and go to Storage > CLEAR DATA.

    The preceding operation may delete data of some apps, such as WeChat and Travel Frog. It is recommended that you back up your app data in advance.

    6 Uninstall the app and install it again

    Touch and hold the app icon on the home screen, and touch Uninstall. Then, download the app from Google Play Store and install it.

    7 Clean up your phone storage

    If the system memory is insufficient, some apps (such as games) that occupy a large amount of memory may exit unexpectedly. In this case, it is recommended that you free up some memory space to ensure that there is at least 20% of memory space available.

    To do this:

    1. Go to the Recent tasks screen and touch to clear background apps.
    2. Use Phone Manager to optimize your phone storage, and uninstall apps you rarely use.
    3. Restart your phone to clear the cache. It is recommended you restart your phone every 2 or 3 days, for it to keep running properly.

    8 Restore your phone to its factory settings

    Back up your data and restore your phone to its factory settings:

    Open Settings, search for and access Factory data reset, and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the task.

    9 Issue unresolved?

    If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Honor Customer Service Center for assistance.
