HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2022 Kicks Off with a Prize Pool over US$100,000

The annual design contest taps into the creative minds of artistic talent to enhance the smartphone user experience

[SHENZHEN, China – Jun 1, 2022] – Global technology brand HONOR announced the launch of HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2022 on May 30. With a jury comprised of some of the world’s most prominent artists and industry experts, the contest is open for entries globally from May 30 to October 7, 2022, offering winners cash prizes up to US$10,000.

“An incredible opportunity for budding young artists worldwide, the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards is a great contest for them to showcase their talents and creativity,” said George Zhao, CEO of HONOR Device Co, Ltd. “From user experience to industrial design, works submitted to us will be given spotlight treatment in front of global audiences and enrich the experiences that HONOR smartphones have to offer.”

Launched in 2020, the annual HONOR Talents Global Design Awards received a total of over 6,000 submissions from participants in more than 40 countries since its inception, with winning entries made available as themes or other products. Last year, HONOR also exhibited winning works in different Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Xiamen, curating a sensational art experience for consumers in the area.

Distinguished Judging Panel Comprised of Industry Professionals

Setting a new benchmark for global design competitions, HONOR has invited world-renowned artists and experts in the field to sit on the judging panel of the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2022.

On the jury are Prof. Cao Xue, the chief designer of the Beijing Winter Olympics mascot Bing Dwen Dwen; Prof. Ma Juncheng from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China, who is also the dean of its School of Urban Design; pioneering AR artist Yunuen Esparza; Cedric Kiefer, the co-founder and creative lead of the famous digital art studio onformative; internationally acclaimed artist Prof. Xiao Hui Wang; and Prof. Yuan Youmin from the China Academy of Art, who designed the logo of the G20 Hangzhou Summit. These artists’ artworks and experience will inspire participants as they endeavor to take their careers to the next level.

New Categories with Attractive Prizes

To emphasize on the synergistic relationship between art and technology, the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2022 accepts submissions in six categories across two groups. Participants may submit their AR Interactive Artworks and Interactive Art Installations under the Digital Art. For Graphic Design, HONOR welcomes entries ranging from Wallpapers, Foldable Wallpapers, Watches to Open Designs.

In addition to offering a prize pool about US$120,000(RMB 800,000) and a total of 77 awards, HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2022 also provides an opportunity for winners to showcase their winning works at HONOR global launch events in the form of physical products. Furthermore, winners stand to gain continuous exposure through the partnerships between HONOR and over 100 mainstream media outlets. The global champion of the contest is also entitled to a cash prize amounting to about US$10,000(RMB 10,000).
