The HONOR Magic Stories Awards 2026 officially launched on March 10, inviting submissions of creative photography and video entries from across the world. This year, this global competition's theme has been upgraded from "Magic Moments" to "Magic Stories," now encompassing five major categories: Humanity, Nature, Creativity, Snapshot, and Video Creation. This marks the beginning of a new phase centered on "stories of people." In particular, this year's judging panel is joined by ARRI to further empower creators to embrace more dynamic and expressive forms of cinematic storytelling, aiming to enable every creative soul to produce their own everyday "blockbusters."

This year's competition features thematic units such as "The Faces," "The Moments," "Creative Vision," "The Story of Life" and "The Film", spanning across diverse creative forms of images and videos. For instance, "Creative Vision" focuses on creative photography, "The Story of Life" on photo series with a consistent theme or visual aesthetics, and "The Film" on video creation. The total number of awards has also increased, aiming to encourage broader creator engagement. Notably, this year's competition has established special awards, such as Best Cinematography and Best Story for the video category, to attract enthusiastic video-makers worldwide.
As a leader in AI-powered imaging, HONOR launched its imaging technology brand AiMAGE in 2025. It developed the industry's first mobile imaging system with device-cloud AI large models, achieving powerful AI imaging effects across all scenarios, including portraits, snapshots, telephoto, and night scenes. It also offers users personalized imaging styles, AI imaging agents, as well as AI editing and processing experiences. AiMAGE's vision is to leverage technology to democratize cinematic creativity by making professional-grade creative tools accessible to everyone. It aims to transform the smartphone from a device focused purely on technical specifications into a tool for inspiration, thus empowering individuals to express themselves and foster deeper connections with the world through visual creation.
Previously, HONOR and ARRI, the world-renowned designer and manufacturer of professional camera technology for cinematic storytelling, announced a strategic technological collaboration at the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona. This partnership aims to deeply integrate ARRI's century-long cinematic heritage, especially its expertise in color science, cinematic visuals, and professional production workflows, with new-generation mobile devices. In this year's competition, ARRI Senior Colorist Florian "Utsi" Martin will serve as one of the judges, who is expected to offer participants professional guidance based on ARRI's profound technical expertise in color science and cinematic visuals.
The competition was first launched in 2021, aiming to break the boundaries of imaging content creation through innovative technologies and establish a global mobile photography exchange platform. To date, it has collected over 1 million entries worldwide. From March 10 to October 16 this year, participants can submit their works via the HONOR official website and other officially designated channels.
