"HONOR Talents Global Design Awards" (hereinafter referred to as "the competition") is a design competition for global designers organized by HONOR Device Co., Ltd (Suite 3401, Unit A, Building 6, Shum Yip Sky Park, No. 8089, Hongli West Road, Xiangmihu Street, Futian District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China) (hereinafter referred to as "The organizer" or “HONOR”). The competition is held based on the principles of fairness, impartiality and openness, to shortlist high-quality design works from all over the world, and we hereby set forth and implement the following terms.
Before entering the competition, Contestant (hereinafter referred to as "you" ) must confirm that you have carefully read and fully understood the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards Privacy Statement (hereinafter referred to as the "privacy statement") and the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards Participation Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "agreement") and agree to abide by the relevant rules.
I. Definitions
1.1. “Organizer” or “HONOR” is HONOR Device Co., Ltd, Suite 3401, Unit A, Building 6, Shum Yip Sky Park, No. 8089, Hongli West Road, Xiangmihu Street, Futian District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China
1.2. “Competition” is the event organized by HONOR under the name: “HONOR Talents Global Design Awards” for an international design contest established to discover, recognize, and promote exceptional design talent worldwide and to source high-quality creative works for incorporation into HONOR Device Co., Ltd.’s commercial products and marketing initiatives. The Competition awards Global 1st Place, 1st–3rd Category Prizes, Best New Talent, Judges' Choice, AIGC Innovation, and Best Interactivity Participation Awards. Winning Entries shall remain the copyright of their authors, while participants grant the Organizer and its Affiliates an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licenses.
1.3. “Contestant” or “You” is any natural person submitting an Entry
1.4. “Entry” is any design or artwork submitted to the Competition
1.5. “Affiliates” is any Organizer´s parent, subsidiartes or related company within the HONOR brand
1.6. “Entry Period” is the time frame during which Entries may be submitted, beginning on the opening date and ending at the deadline specified on the official Competition website.
1.7. “Competition Website” is the official website of the Organizer (https://www.honor.com/uk/honor-talents/global-design-awards/)
II. Eligibility
1. You shall reached the age of majority for the legal jurisdiction that you reside in, and have the legal capacity to enter into a legal agreement according to the law to which you are subject to.
2. Your Entry must be original, unpublished, and not subject to any third-party rights. Under EU copyright law, a work is being considered original if it reflects your own intellectual creation through free, creative choices, and is sufficiently precise and objectively identifiable to distinguish it from commonplace or purely function designs. The Entry must be unpublished and not subject to any third-party license or any restrictions. AI-assisted Entries are eligible only if you hold all rights in the output and can document the creation process.
3. The Organizer may disqualify any Entry that:
a. Fails to meet the originality and creativity standards required by applicable copyright law or is substantially similar to existing copyrighted works, such that it does not qualify for independent copyright protection;
b. The Entry is directly copied, derived, or substantially resembles another’s work without meaningful transformation or additional creativity;
c. The Entry infringes any law or third-party right (e.g., copyright, trademark, portrait right);
d. The Entry contains unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or obscene content;
e. The Entry is of the following nature, or perform any act of the following nature in the competition: fake, defamatory, infringing, harmful, pornographic, offensive, bullying, harassing, scandalous, hateful, inflammatory, threatening, profane, obscene, invades the privacy of others, or otherwise objectionable content, including but not limited to promoting illegal activities, the presence of obvious portrayal or glorification of violence, and any content and conduct that is discriminatory, illegal, causes or may cause damage or injury to personal property which may give rise to civil or criminal liability under applicable laws.
f. The Entry fails to meet the official specifications or technical requirements.
III. Competition Rules
1. Submit Entries by the deadline in the required format. Late or nonconforming submissions will be disqualified.
2. Organizer may request editable source files (e.g. PSD, AI) solely for judging. Source files will not be used commercially under this Agreement.
3. AI Usage
If you use AI tools, you warrant that:
a. You own all rights in the AI-generated content;
b. all prompts, inputs, and AI model version and its licensing situation are properly procured and documented;
c. You agree to provide without undue delay the data as described in III.3.b (including but not limited to prompt logs and/or any meta data) to the Organizer free of charge for the soley purpose to check the Entry´s eligibility.
d. Misrepresentation, non-adherence or infrigenement via AI will lead to disqualification and prize revocation.
4. Judges
The organizer will invite global authoritative design industry experts to serve as judges, and each Contestant will have the opportunity to speak with top international experts.
5. Review Mechanism and Selection Criteria
The judging process for the Competition includes a review round, a preliminary round, and a final round. The Entries of each Contestant will first be reviewed by our staff, and the Entries that pass the review are eligible to be judged and selected for the awards. The Entries’ judging includes a round of preliminary judging and a second round of final judging. All Entries that have passed the review will be selected by the Competitions organizing committee and the preliminary judges will assess the Entries according to their aesthetics, technological sense, creativity, application, and communicativeness. The fair and professional review process of the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards enables us to select works with the greatest design, innovation, and market application potential.
The selection criteria for the Entries are as follows:
(1) Aesthetics: strong visual impact, reasonable composition and harmonious color.
(2) Technological Sense: expressing the innovative beauty of combining tech and art.
(3) Creativity: The design is ingenious and has original elements.
(4) Applicability: accurate information transmission, suitable for HONOR consumer products, accessory products and MAGICOS, etc.
(5) Conveying power: showing cultural feelings and humanistic connotations.
IV. Intellectual Property Rights & Other Rights
1. You guarantee that:
• You are the original creator and have complete, undisputed copyright over your submitted work.
• Your work has not been plagiarized or authorized for commercial use by any other person or organization.
• Your entry does not violate any third-party rights, such as copyright, portrait rights, or privacy rights.
If you break these guarantees:
• You are fully responsible for any legal disputes that arise.
You must return all prizes and money and pay for any losses caused to the organizer and its affiliates.
2. License Grant:
By submitting you grant the Organizer and its Affiliates a transferable, sublicensable, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license, free of charge and unlimited in time and region, to:
a. Reproduce, adapt, display and publicly perform your Entry for the Competition and in connection with the Competition for promotional, exhibition and archival purposes, in any medium (online or offline), such as on the organiser’s website, app, social channels, in printed materials, at exhibitions, roadshows and award ceremonies, and in catalogues and the permanent archive.
b. Manufacture, market, distribute and sell derivative or ancillary commercial products incorporating the entry, e.g. phone cases, apparel, wallpapers, themes and watch faces.
c. Include the Entry in global marketing and advertising campaigns across all media, including online, social, mobile, out-of-home (OOH), in-store displays and third-party partner channels.
d. Sub-license, assign or transfer the foregoing rights to third-party partners for any purpose related to clauses (a) to (c).
e. Post-Term: Upon expiry of the license term, Organizer shall refrain from any new use of the Entry for promotional purposes, but shall not be obliged to remove, delete, or destroy any materials already published or distributed under this Agreement.
f. Organizer and its Affiliates is under no obligation to exercise any of the rights granted under this Section.
Attribution: Organizer will credit you by name wherever reasonably practicable. Nothing waives your moral rights.
V. Responsibilities & Obligations
1. By submitting, you agree to resolve any disputes from your breach and indemnify Organizer and Affiliates.
2. You may not transfer or resubmit the Entry to other contests during the Entry Period.
3. You must retain and provide source files or proof of ownership upon request.
4 You confirm accuracy of personal data; inaccurate data may result in disqualifcation and prize forfeiture.
VI. Prize
you can find the detail of the prize on the official website of "HONOR Talents Global Design Awards European Region ". Winner Certificates (electronic) will be sent to you via email.
VII. Other Terms
1. This competition will neither charge any fees nor return any entries, and only electronic submissions will be accepted. If the work is not submitted successfully or is not approved due to reasons arising from the contestant, all losses and consequences shall be borne by the contestants themselves.
2. In general, the organizer will arrange the distribution of prizes within 120 working days from the end of the competition, and the specific distributing entity shall be determined by the organizer. Contestants should provide a valid contact information within the time specified by the organizer.
3. If the organizer needs to suspend or terminate this competition for unforeseen technical, security or business reasons, we will make every effort to notify you beforehand, including but not limited to in the form of an announcement or via email, so do keep a look out for such notifications.
4. If the organizer makes any changes to this agreement (including material changes, etc.) and said changes will materially affect your rights and obligations, the organizer will notify you through the appropriate channels. We recommend that you review this agreement periodically to ensure that you are aware of any such adjustments made by the organizer. If you continue to participate in the "HONOR Talents Global Design Awards" after the relevant adjustments have been published, you are deemed to have agreed and accepted the relevant adjustments and updates made by the organizer and are willing to be bound by them.
5. Nothing in this agreement shall be deemed to create any partnership or agency relationship between you and the organizer. Neither party shall have the right to assume any liability obligations or costs, or to enter into any contract or other engagement in the name of or on behalf of the other party.
6. The organizer shall not be responsible for any failure or delay in the performance of the organizer's obligations under this agreement caused by or resulting from events beyond the organizer's reasonable control. The organizer shall have the right to assign, subcontract or novate the organizer's rights and obligations under this agreement.
7. If any provisions of this agreement are deemed to be invalid, ineffective or unenforceable by a court of competent authority or any other relevant authority, such provisions shall be deemed to have been deleted from this agreement, but any other provisions shall remain in force.
